“International Jazz Fest 2017 Presented By SpiritBank!”! Takes place Friday May 5th, 6-9 pm at the Guthrie Green. This incredible concert is part of the Tulsa Brady District’s monthly 1st Friday Art Crawl which averages 2000-3000 attendees per event!
This is an International Jazz Day 2017 sanctioned event, in 2016 Tulsa Jazz had the honor of being the producer of Tulsa’s first official participation since the event’s inception in 2012. (See www.jazzday.com for additional details).

Talk of Tulsa Show Chorus: The Talk of Tulsa Show Chorus is dedicated to producing a professional musical product and enriching the lives of its members and the community through performance and education in barbershop music!
Michal Hoter Trio: A fantastic Jazz Trio from Tiberius Israel with a combination sound of Jazz and World Music. Michal has recorded 2 independent CDs in Israel (2004 and 2010) dedicated to Jewish music, that without any official label or PR gained many fans and sold over 10,000 copies.
Her debut jazz album “Earth Colour” was recorded in Dublin with musician from around the world and released in 2016. The album combines original compositions and personal interpretations to Jazz standards fusing Jazz and world music sounds. Michal and her band are currently touring the world with the new album.
The Trio’s musical performance provided by the Tulsa Global Alliance.
Micheal Rappe Sextet: The smooth, velvety, voice of Michael Rappe and the immensely talented musicians of this Sextet will be an unforgettable experience for all in attendance!
This wonderfully entertaining Jazz group, think Rat Pack and Vegas style entertainment, will perform originals works, traditional jazz, and a few surprises!
Members of this group have performed at the Guthrie Green in Tulsa, KTUL’s Good Day Tulsa Morning TV Show, The NSU Jazz Lab, and various venues in the Tulsa area and around the state. This is a can’t miss performance!
The Clark Gibson Studio Orchestra: The headliner of the event, they will be performing a rare composition of “Byrd with Strings” this music has only been performed live twice, ever, and we have the honor of sharing it!
Along with this incredible musical moment the Orchestra will also perform music from “Ella with Strings” featuring incredible vocalists Branjae Jackson and Cynthia Simmons!
The night will also include a musical performance provided by the Tulsa Global Alliance, Tulsa’s own Vintage Swing Movement Dancers, Prima Cuerda- Classical Guitarist, and much more…
“International Jazz Day is the culmination of Jazz Appreciation Month, which draws public attention to jazz and its extraordinary heritage throughout April.
In December 2012, the United Nations General Assembly formally welcomed the decision by the UNESCO General Conference to proclaim April 30 as International Jazz Day.
